Objective:
- To accelerate the adoption of Industrial Energy Efficiency (IEE) and to improve enterprise environmental performance under the wider umbrella of Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production (RECP) best practices and innovative approaches within selected small, medium and largescale industrial enterprises in Nigeria.
Main activities:
- Design and develop a Project Identification Form (PIF) for GEF Full-sized Project (GEF-FSP) on “Improving Nigeria Industrial Energy and Resources Efficient Cleaner Production – IEE/RECP.
- Carry out baseline assessments on energy efficiency, waste minimization, material/resource efficiency, wastewater effluents, emission and pollution of the country’s energy, industrial, manufacturing and agro-processing sector.
- Conduct research, carry out review of existing policies on environment and industrial/manufacturing activities in the country.
- Develop the GEF-Full Size Project logical framework analysis including detailed description of project outcomes, outputs, activities and indicators, with deliverables, timing costs, and responsibilities.
- Integrate into the PIF, fundamental principles of Environmental Management System – ISO 14001 (EMS), Energy Management System – ISO 5001 (EnMS), and Quality Management System – ISO 9001(QMS) as they will respond to the country’s environmental, energy, and industrial challenges and prospects.
- Develop a GEF Project document and provide guidance/orientation on indicators and quantifiable targets particularly to track project progress and effectiveness.
- Coordinate multi-stakeholder consultation process (and validation workshops) with target beneficiary groups including the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), IFIs/FIs, relevant MDAs and professional expert groups.

Main activities:

Objective:
- To improve resource productivity and environmental performance of businesses and other organizations and thereby contribute to sustainable industrial development and sustainable production and consumption at the national levels in the participating countries.
Main activities:
- Coordinate and manage the implementation of the RECP Finance and investment mechanisms in five target countries – China, India, South Africa, Colombia & Tunisia.
- Recommend governmental and bank institutions strategies to mainstream and promote innovative “Green” financing instruments for mainstreaming RECP into enterprise financial planning.
- Identify, liaise and work closely with key global, regional and local stakeholders and experts, notably the National Cleaner Production Centres in the targeted countries, as intermediary to SME’s in various technical fields.
